Color Project Picture

Above is the picture i plan to use for the color project. The repetitive colors and creepy look made this picture stand out to me.

Metaphor, Life or Something Like It

My metaphor project was based off of hospital experiences, if you've read my storyline for the mark making project then you will understand or even get the metaphor. In the crit Kathy liked that there was just enough put together so that you can kind of understand but are not fully aware of the metaphor. The creepy, saw-like hospital feel was easily understood. I would like to say thank you to Sarah, Kevin, Krystal, and Alex for helping me get this piece set up.

Mark Making Critique

For the mark making project my critiquers like my piece and said that the bed was constructed very well, the mark was appropriate for the story and done with detail. The things I could have improved on my piece was painting the lettering and barcodes on the pvc so that it was all white, and playing with different ways to have the mark relevant to my story, also something that would need to be changed for an actual display would need to be a plain white pillowcase without frills.

Uncomfortable Video Critique

My video's positive feedback consisted of the length that i pee'd for, and the thought that my "junk" was right off camera. Negative feedback and stuff i could have done better could have been a less thought of camera angle, and could have taken away the clutter on the bathroom floor.

Metaphor Proposals

The memory I am basing my metaphor and 3 proposals off of are the memory of when I decided to switch my career path from marine biology to art and the fact that I am now happier with a choice that was not the chosen path.

12 Mark Making Comps

12 mark making compositions
1 and 2: Using a plastic knife and spoon
3 and 4: Using the sole of my shoe
5 and 6: Using the bristles of the brush and the end
7 and 8: Using a paint brush
9 and 10: Using my chin/beard dipped in ink and my fingers
11 and 12: Using string dipped in ink and rubbed across the page and splattered

12 mark making comps in the process

In the process of making 12 comps using kitchen utensils, sole of shoes, hair grooming device, a traditional painting tool (paint brush), an object of my choosing (body parts; fingers and chin/beard), and string.

This is my uncomfortable video, ENJOY!!!

The three thing I chose to portray by mark making are Tremor, Death, and Venom. The tremor marks are inspired by the motion of my hand tremor and sharpness of the movements when it starts. Death was inspired by feelings and perception of how death felt to me. The final 3 are inspired by the look and feel of the venom as it coursed through my vains.

Sensations in Story

Sound: The heart monitor beeping, then flatlining, the doctor telling me I'll never use my hand the same again.
Touch: My hand tremors, feeling weak when i woke up
Time: Being asleep for 3 days, jumping from past diary entry to present day remenisant one.

Monologues

For the monologues I decided to go with talking about how I really feel about Wash and Procrastination for two videos. The first is me talking about wash and the second is me waking up to go to class and rushing to get the video done. (Procrastination)
